It is a fact that nobody likes changes; the same applies with the way in which
people
are assessed. The traditional way to test people on computers is to give people
multi-choice
questionnaires, which works and all , however there is a downside to this method
, firstly the test taker can actually see one or more of the answer and take a
wild guess , and if luck is on their side they can pass the test without even
knowing anything , this can be very bad for you or your company. Secondly the
types of questions that are asked are mostly of the same nature and very basic,
a user cannot be tested to the full extent as the user is only presented with
a small imaginary portion of the real program.
However with simulation based assessment, the user is actually working on a
simulation of the real program , thus making it very real .The range of questions
that can be asked can also be extended , since there are now multiple paths
the user can take to answer a question and not just in one way , also eliminating
the way of guessing on multiple choice.
In the end, simulation assessment will result in better testing of people,
which can only benefit all who make use of it.
