You provide training for employees on a regular
basis right?
Do they perform?
Can you see physical progress or are you simply
hoping for the best?
You should always be aware of what a person really learnt
during training.
You need to know if the training is satisfactory to the employee.
More importantly, you need to know if it is effective.
Staff should be assessed before going on training and then
again after training.
Also, assess them after a period of time following the training.
You will learn the following from the assessments:
- How much do they know before training?
- Did they learn during training?
- How well do they remember what they learnt?
Assessment is also necessary to know which employees are
willing to learn more and if they are working smartly. Do
they know how to effectively solve a problem without spending
unnecessary time on it?
